Tandem Associates began, like any other small business, as a leap of faith. After years of working in major ad agencies in New York and Philadelphia, Mark Plamondon, Tandem’s founder and president, started laying the groundwork for his own agency. Mark took the plunge in 1994 with the help of trusted friends, armed with the promise of loyal clients, and the stamina for a whole lot of pitching.

Tandem found our niche as an outsourced marketing team, often starting with clients on launching new products. We were able to attract major companies who already had full service ad agencies, but wanted to work with experienced specialists who would actively manage the risky project of launching new products.

Back in the ‘90s, we were one of the very early adopters of virtual workplaces, which proved to be a skill way ahead of its time. And it proved to be highly effective in recruiting creatives of all kinds, all over the country, who were (and are) interested in flextime and working from home. Because we are able to form our own teams of diverse professionals, from all disciplines and all backgrounds, we attract people who love what they do. And our clients certainly feel that.
